WORLD’S END STATE PARK
Oh Pennsylvania, your beauty amazes me every time. At World’s End State Park you’ll experience abstractly marbled rock, the tranquil rush of Loyalsock Creek, + a sea of evergreens flowing back + forth amongst the mountains.Β Here, you’ll be welcomed by countless varieties of mushrooms, wildflowers, + creatures as you adventure throughout the park. If you enjoy solitude, know that this is wonderful place for some alone time within the trees.
There are a few hikes I recommend when visiting World’s End. One of them is the World’s End Trail that extends south of the visitor center. After a brief uphill walk you’ll encounter the gorgeous view of World’s End Vista (pictured below)! The entire trail is 3.25 miles.
High Rock Trail, which begins north of the visitor center, also gives you a great view at the High Rock Vista. I found so many mushrooms on this trail + other interesting plants like this Ghost Pipe pictured below. It’s a mile to the summit + a bit steep, but you go through a lovely wooded area + cross a stream over a bridge!
Lastly, I recommend the Double Run Trail which is my personal favorite! It takes you through forested hills, along streams, + past Cottonwood Falls! I wanted to stay here forever; I felt so at peace.
Even driving on the outskirts of the park feels serene. Golden sunlit fields, a layer of hazy morning fog, the sheer surrounding silence are significant memories of this area that have stayed in my mind.
I hope you experience this glorious natural wonder of Pennsylvania + hike the peaceful paths. Happy trails!
